Sceneries for Flight Simulator 2004

Slovenija - Freeware airports for Flight Simulator 2004

I have prepared freeware edition of our Slovenian sport airfields. They are not as detailed as they will be in project FS Slovenija but they can be useful for online flying. Every airport has accurate position of runway, taxiways, hangars and a basic control tower if there is in reality. If You want to get more accurate airports, check web pages of FS Slovenija project!

Charts for these sceneries are available on VATSIM Slovenia web pages, IVAO Slovenija division page or Slovenian CAA web page.

IMPORTANT: Since the sceneries below, except for LJLJ, do not have AFCAD files, they won't show in Flight Simulator 2004 Airport menu. You must download this pack
(5 Kb) for this feature!

Ljubljana-Brnik international airport (LJLJ)

This is freeware scenery of Ljubljana-Brnik airport based from payware Slovenija 2004 scenery (available at http://users.volja.net/slo2004). It features only basic things as accurate parking positions, taxiways, taxisigns but has only basic buildings. It can be used also in FS2002 (read the README.TXT file included).
For true IFR flying we recommend that You download the radionavigational aid Marker west, which is mandatory radionavigational aid for all take-offs to the northwest and also missed approach and go-around procedures. The aid was prepared by Andrej Drobun, you can get it by downloading here (61kB).

This is the only military airfield in Slovenia and has one asphalt runway and three aprons. I have attached chart for the airfield. Chart was made by Nejc Brelih.

Sport airfield Lesce-Bled (LJBL)

Sport airfield Lesce-Bled is located at the west end of Ljubljana basin, near Slovenian lake Bled and turist city Bled. North of the airport is the village Begunje well known for their factory Elan which produces one of the best world skis, sailboats and high performance gliders DG. On the airport You'll find very good restaurant where You can eat desert Blejska grmada (recommended). The airport was established in the beginning of the 20th century as army and sport
airfield, after second WW it even had regular traffic connection on which flew DC-3's from Jugoslav aircraft carrier JAT.
This scenery includes hangars, restaurant, control tower, houses near threshold 13 and electrical power line at the east of the airport. Please note that because of default scenery, this add-on lies some 200m northwest from true location. Attached to the ZIP is also chart made by Nejc Brelih.

Note: Please do download Gerrish Gray's trees from link in file readme.txt!

Sport airfield  Slovenj Gradec (LJSG)

Slovenj Gradec is currently the only sport airfield that features 1200m long asphalt runway. It was built in the middle of forests and in a valley big enough to hold the airfield and the city Slovenj Gradec. The airfield has in reality 4 runways, one asphalt, and three grass' although only one is really in use. The airport is getting bigger and bigger, and is known for local tennis field, camp, horseriding and local motocross course.
It is also included with Flight Simulator although only the asphalt runway is provided. Attached to the ZIP is also chart made by Nejc Brelih.

Slovenia mesh terrain

A group of scenery designers leaded by Mirko Ternik has prepared a really detailed mesh terrain with real resolution of 1 arcsec, which should be resolution of about 25m (non interpolated!) This is probably the best mesh available for Slovenia for MS Flight Simulator!

Missing navaids for Slovenia and Croatia

In the ZIP file You can find some more navaids which Microsoft forgot to include in FS2002 and there is also an update for Rijeka VORDME, which was recently built. Now You can use latest real world charts and the latest release of Jeppesen Simcharts. Instructions are included in the ZIP file.

VFR reporting points for LJLA FIR - Slovenia

A single file that adds visual reporting points within LJLA - Slovenia FIR. Points can be seen on the GPS gauge and used in the sim's flight planner to create realistic VFR routes. Compiled with data found on official SloveniaControl ATC services site.

New PETOV intersection

This file adds an intersection introduced in 2005 which is in use with SID's and STAR's for Maribor International airport (LJMB). Since this file is a BGL, You have to put it in FS2004\Addon Scenery\Scenery folder or in some other SCENERY folder where You already have some scenery.
